Along with my mind and body, art is all I own. In this way, I am my own creator; because of this, I don’t need to follow someone else’s religion. To me, global society would be better if belief were individualized and not organized to the point where it interferes with both the beliefs and non-beliefs of others (such as Islamophobia or religious doctrine influencing economic policy). My work stumbles around these ideas among others, either diluting propaganda or inadvertently creating it. I am human after all; an experience and emotion I often reference through image, motion, composition, sound, or text-striving to engage a specific in order to access and relate to a broader spectrum.
My art and my artistic process is constantly evolving and I think my statement(s) should too. Unfortunately, evolution doesn’t happen overnight so this is a transitional phase.
