Yemen has been facing a humanitarian crisis for the last year and has been attacked by Saudi forces (with US support) for the last three years. Hundreds of thousands of people are dying from starvation and Cholera, easily treatable diseases. The US has been an accomplice by providing bombs to the Saudi-led attacks. There was also a US drone found in Yemen, fighter jets, and intelligence, including giving the Saudis a ‘no strike list’ which has been proven to be violated. This is an unlawful war.

It’s one thing when the world, or rather, the people you’re around, are objectifying you; you are not usually in control of that, but it’s another when you objectify yourself; either playing a character people have decided you are or want you to be, selling your soul for a dollar or worse, marketing yourself like some kind of product. Like a publically traded stock of a facebook share. Your profile makes some pretty corrupt people a TON of money. Are you okay with that? I mean what do you have to trade, or sell, for the “free” service? How much are you worth – that’s how you are sold to advertisers and conspiracy theorists.  But you know, it’s fun, right?

If there were no social media, there would be no Trump. Just chew on that for a minute. Your obsession with posting your “brilliant” thoughts, behaviors, food, accomplishments, events etc. has come at the cost of creating a totalitarian regime. How are you not an accomplice?

St. Patrick’s Day is over and Stephen Hawking is dead, so what’s left to celebrate? The Bruise! ARIANA LEE is a multidisciplinary artist here in Brooklyn, who hates using the term multidisciplinary artist but is a conflicted human, so here we are. A love of literature and reading early on transpired into a love of wanting to write and share stories. She has a pug that some might revere as a stable genius, he constantly upstages her. She’s currently crafting a web presence, in the meantime catch her in these streets and be sure to say hi.

I stand with the young students from all around the country who walked out for 17/18 minutes from schools in all 50 states with International solidarity too. There’s an excellent broadcast about it and the unreported death of the most recent school-shooting victim Courtlin Arrington. I will be marching in DC on March 24th and encourage everyone who is able to join as well. If DC isn’t possible for you, please join the solidarity march in NYC. Be safe everyone. Fuck guns, the NRA and the capitalistic system that perpetuates gun lobbying and violence for profit.

Yup, I’m moving the show back to Idlewild for a few reasons but the main ones being that 1) I want help keep Idlewild a safe space for creative/literary community AND 2) Josh Boyd who I originally booked this month’s show with at Bohemian Grove was called out in Me Too from a few women – I just found out about this but stand with the women and glad they spoke up. I don’t know the details but it’s definitely a disappointment, to say the least.
